Public & Products Liability* Cover starts from £45 per annum for £5,000,000 of Cover for claims made against you for injuries, loss or physical damage to third parties
Professional Indemnity* Cover starts from £110 per annum for protection against claims for Negligence claims and allegations made against you by clients and third parties, because of mistakes you’ve made and things you’ve failed to do.
Course Cancellation Reimbursement of costs and expenses from the abandonment or cancellation of any training course, up to the value of £5,000
First Aid Event Cover Included as standard if this is a small part of your overall income
Business Equipment Choose between £2,500, £5,000 or £10,000 to replace your business equipment including training aids, and portable equipment (i.e. laptop, tablet, phone etc)

What insurance does a first aid trainer need?

Public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance are two of the main types of business insurance, and these covers can both be useful for self-employed training coaches to.

Optional insurance for course cancellation, your businesses equipment, property damage and employers’ liability can be added to Public Liability and Professional Indemnity into one policy for you in what is commonly referred to as a Training Provider Combined Insurance Package.

 

What is First Aid Event Cover?

As a qualified first aider, you may be hired to provide first aid cover at events such as school/village fetes. Amateur sports events, fire work displays etc

 

Why you need training provider insurance

Since anyone trained as a first aid expert encounters situations where they often have to make life and death decisions, it is essential have the right insurance. Being a good Samaritan unfortunately doesn’t protect you from being sued, if something unforeseen goes wrong.

The necessary insurance for first aiders includes cover for: simple first aiders, first aid trainers, training organisations, and event organisation cover.

 

What is course cancellation insurance?

Course cancellation insurance provides cover for the irrecoverable costs or expenses which have been or will be incurred by you arising from the abandonment or cancellation of any training course.

For the avoidance of doubt, the definition are below:

Abandonment – The inability to complete the course once commenced.

Adverse weather – Weather conditions such that they render the fulfilment of the course as being dangerous and irresponsible having consideration for the safety of the course attendees.

Cancellation – The inability to proceed with the course prior to commencement and which cannot be postponed.

Cost up the value of £5,000 can be claimed back on any one claim, to a total of £10,000 for the period of the insurance cover.
